It has a small medical team that provides, free of charge, medical examinations performed by a doctor, medicines, disinfection and dressings to minor injuries, health education and regular support to the health of children in areas where it operates. The rising level of the standard of living in the city has noticeably increased the gap between those who are rich, those who have nothing and with those living in the country. The primary purpose of our association is to bring relief to the least one on earth. We believe that the right to health is one of the fundamental human rights. Our mobile clinic tries to respond, even if only partially, to this need. The demand for medical and health care is increasingly high in areas where the government has moved thousands of people away from central zones, thus leaving them destitute. Slums still exist in various parts of the city, in areas without sewers, water, or food. Just a few kilometers away from the capital in all four directions, there are whole villages in which people live below the bread line. We feel the urgent need to increase the number of operating days of our mobile clinic, in order to be more effective and bring more relief to the truly needy. The mobile clinic currently visits more than 10,000 patients each year in the following areas: Village Roong, Bati district, Takeo province Phum Kong Phum Pray Snoul, Phnom Chiso, Chamka Dong, Boeung Tupun (Village adjacent to the garbage dump) Kao Kan Dang (desolate area where 7000 families were deported) Staff required to meet the increased needs of the clinic: A supervisor - employed to supervise the purchasing of medicines and the accompaniment of patients to hospital. An assistant supervisor – employed to organize the daily clinics and the dispensing of medicines along with a nurse. A doctor - employed to see to the medical needs of patients, to prescribe medication, to see to the health education of patients, to request any urgent admissions to hospitals in the capital. A nurse - who carries out the distribution of medicines and sees to the treatment of minor injuries. An assistant – in charge of the registration of patients , the completion of part of medical records and the measurement of patient’s height and weight. |
